What is the NEZ?
We are the Neuköllner EngagementZentrum (NEZ) – it’s kind of a tongue twister, we know. We are counseling people who seek to volunteer in the district of Neukölln. In addition, we give advice to organisations on how to work with volunteers and to corporations if they want to incorporate Corporate Volunteering/Citizenship.
What are the volunteering opportunities in Neukölln?
We offer a large variety of over 150 volunteering. Most of them require a certain command of German. But don’t worry: there are some volunteering options that can be executed in English. Also,we are working with other organisations like GsbtB and Vostel, who are collaborating with a lot of expats.
Where can I find the NEZ?
We’re located in the heart of Rixdorf (North Neukölln): you can find us at Hertzbergstraße 22, 12055 Berlin.
Can I just drop by?
It isfavourable to make an appointment beforehand. In case you want to drop by, we are open on Tuesday and Thursday between 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday from 12 am to 6 pm.

I want to volunteer – how do I get started?
We will first explore your interests (e.g. your preferred target group) and the amount of time frame you want to spend. Afterwards we will give you recommendations about potential volunteering options. These include a description of the position, the location and the contact person, which you can contact later on.
